Tampa Pride is a massive event that brings together tens of thousands of people each year. It takes a team of over 100 volunteers to make this epic celebration happen. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:

DIRECTOR'S COUNCIL
About the positions
TAMPA PRIDE DIRECTOR’S COUNCEL (Volunteer Positions)
The Success of Tampa Pride is based on the individuals who give of themselves to ensure the community is being appropriately celebrated and the events put on by the organization bring PRIDE to our community.
Tampa Pride is decentralizing to ensure that each aspect of what it takes to have a successful Tampa Pride organization is rooted in people who champion a specific area of responsibility. With this in mind, Tampa Pride is looking for a group of Committee Directors to take on leading the organization as it evolves.
Tampa Pride Committee Directors have responsibility for the direction, oversight, execution, budgets, talent and leadership for a specific area of focus. The Committee Directors will run their segment of Tampa Pride, while providing progress reports and updates to the Board of Directors. Candidates must be in good standing with the community and positions are voluntary.
DIRECTOR’S COUNCEL POSITIONS:
Responsibilities:
- Full ownership of a Tampa Pride Committee/Event Area of Responsibility
- Develop and execute strategic plans
- Develop and receive approval for annual budgets and expenditures
- Recruit members for participation and execution in your area of responsibility
- Create and follow a timing and action plan to ensure execution
- Provide scheduled progress updates to the Tampa Pride Board of Directors
- Request assistance from the Board of Directors as needed

EXECUTIVE BOARD
About the position
MEMBER, TAMPA PRIDE EXECUTIVE BOARD (Volunteer Position)
Tampa Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that services the City of Tampa and surrounding communities. We are a financially stable, small organization that serves the LGBTQ+ community of the Tampa area. We are seeking a committed individual who can volunteer their time, knowledge, experience and expertise to join our Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
The board, as a whole, is responsible to:
- Develop and executing strategic planning.
- Provide oversight and approval of Tampa Pride directors/committee chair people
- Monitor the organization’s performance and compliance.
- Review and approve annual budgets, audit reports, and organization decisions
- Ensure the financial health of the organization
- Execution of Tampa Pride and other annual events
As a board member, you will:
- Receive regular progress reports and strategies from the executive director and committee chairs/directors.
- Attend monthly board meetings (approximately 1.5 hours each)
- Respond promptly to issues/opportunities arising between board meetings.
- Lead or assist with committee projects and oversee committee directors
The estimated time commitment is approximately five hours per month, with the months leading up to Tampa Price (March) requiring a more intensive commitment.

The board will work hand in hand with Tampa Pride Directors and Committees as they lay out and execute plans for their specific functions/events. Tampa Pride is the main focus of the Tampa Pride board and takes place in March every year. The BOD is responsible for oversight planning, implementation and execution on the multifaceted event..
